About Dr. Eric Berg

The Berg Institute of Health & Wellness was established by Dr. Eric Berg, DC, The Knowledge Doc, in Seminole, Florida, in 1997. He currently serves as the Institute's CEO. The Institute's mission is to educate people about their bodies' requirements, nutritional inadequacies, and general wellness.

Dr. Berg empowers patients to control their health and well-being and reach their optimal weight loss objectives using a ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting.

Dr. Berg began a long period of nutritional research after earning his chiropractic degree in 1988. His passion was stoked by a desire to comprehend his eating issues and his health.

Dr. Eric now instructs individuals on a variety of subjects about health. He specializes in analyzing complicated health issues of various kinds, tying symptoms to underlying causes, and developing nutritional solutions for recovery. His long-term eating strategy, which includes the healthy keto diet and intermittent fasting, is now widely regarded as a game-changer in achieving amazing levels of wellness.

Dr. Eric Berg eventually transitioned from full-time chiropractic practice to teaching his techniques to other medical professionals, including serving for a time as an associate professor at Howard University, as a result of the dramatic improvement in his health that he experienced as a result of new knowledge he gained from deeper research into the science of nutrition.

Based on fresh research, his 2006 book The 7 Principles of Fat Burning was updated in 2019 as The Healthy Keto Diet, which is now a top seller on Amazon.

He also launched a YouTube channel in 2008, where he continues to offer his opinions on healthy eating habits and a wide range of other health-related subjects. His channel has amassed over 6,000 videos, 18 million followers, and 100 million monthly views. To train Keto Coaches worldwide, he also developed a course that examines intermittent fasting and keto.

Dr. Berg wants to put people in control of their health.

Dr. Eric worked as a chiropractor in private practice in San Diego, California, Shreveport, Louisiana, and Alexandria, Virginia. He has been the CEO of the Berg Institute of Health & Wellness in Seminole, Florida, since 1997.

Dr. Eric Berg studied pre-medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside from 1983 to 1985 before enrolling in Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1988. He also served in the Army Reserve, receiving X-ray technology training.

The International Scoliosis Research Center, the Southern California College of Chiropractic, the National-Lincoln School of Postgraduate Education, and the Louisiana Union of Chiropractic, Risk Management, and Motor Vehicle Collision Injuries, among others, provided additional advanced and speciality academic training.

Dr. Berg achieved board certification in Virginia, California, and Louisiana and obtained certifications in microscopy, live blood cell analysis, and the diagnostic interpretation of neuro-selective current perception threshold. He also passed parts I, II, and III of the National Board of Chiropractic Examination.

Dr. Eric has devoted a significant amount of his resources—including time, money, and extensive public outreach—to charitable organizations that share his passion for wellness and healing throughout his many years as a well-known expert in the science of nutrition. Along with his wife Karen, the Bergs generously give back to the public by educating people about fitness and diets nationally and worldwide.

Dr. Eric Berg treated more than 40,000 patients in Alexandria, Virginia, during his 30-year chiropractic career. Also, he delivered internal and external seminars for government organizations like the FBI, National Institute of Science, Library of Congress, and Federal Communication Commission, among others.

Dr. Berg organized yearly Keto Health Summits, most notably in Washington, DC, between 2017 and 2019 (when the epidemic halted such major public gatherings). The number of doctors, dietitians, healthcare professionals, and keto dieters sharing extraordinary well-being experiences and rapid weight loss quickly increased to 1,000 yearly. Several nationally recognized keto diet and metabolic health experts spoke at the conferences.

In addition to his publications, Dr. Berg's work has appeared in numerous well-known periodicals and on numerous TV and radio shows, such as Channel 9, CBS Nightly News and Channel 8 News.

More than 2,500 healthcare professionals have received training from Dr. Berg in his approaches, strategies, and discoveries. He has been a key voice in bringing attention to the potential benefits of intermittent fasting and ketogenic diets for enhancing health and well-being.

Dr. Eric Berg's enthusiasm for health permeates many aspects of his life, including his pursuits outside the Berg Institute. It's become a hobby for him; in his own words, "I am continuously exploring why people get ailments for fundamental reasons." That passion evolved from his personal experience fighting the effects of overwork and overeating like "the meat and potatoes kid."

By the time he was 32, his new knowledge of diet had restored his vitality and given him the capacity to keep up with the demanding schedules of his wife Karen and their three energetic kids.

One of Eric's most valuable yet scarce resources is free time. Playing his custom-built guitar and collaborating with Karen to produce fresh, appealing dishes with a healthy twist provide him inspiration and relaxation.

Dr. Berg currently resides on a picturesque farm, undertaking extensive research on the soil's ability to support the growth of nutrient-dense plants and animals. Karen concurs that the ground was the source of everything in the kitchen.
